Pack your bags! We're ready to go!
With a little preparation ahead of time, you can gather everything you need to scrap your vacation photos and still Enjoy Your Vacation!  Let the whole family have fun with it.  My husband even had fun collecting things.

BEFORE YOU GO

Supplies needed:

  • Three-ring Binder
  • Spiral Notebook
  • Pocket Pages

You can use a binder from around your house, or purchase one for a couple of dollars from your local office supply store.  While shopping, pick-up a package of pocket pages.  I found manila double-pocket dividers and plastic binder Pockets.  I went with the latter because the pockets are cut on a slant which holds things in place a little better, and they are see through.

Each place you visit will need its own pocket.  Label your pockets with small label stickers giving dates of arrival and location.  While making your travel plans, put copies of reservations, tourist information and maps in their appropriate pocket.

Place the spiral notebook in the front pocket of the notebook to record each days events.  It is best to take a couple of minutes each evening, when things get quiet, to jot down the days happenings and special moments.

WHILE TRAVELING

Now is where the fun begins!  Use your travel pockets to store items you collect along the way.  When you return home and have your wonderful photographs developed, everything is in order and ready to scrap.

Items to gather along the way:

  • Brochures - One to cut for a title or journal square and one to keep in a pocket in your album.
  • Pins - These are very popular now.  It is easy to remove the back pin with tweezers or pliers.
  • Tickets and Passes
  • Business Cards from your favorite restaurants, bed and breakfast, etc
  • Postcards - Make a note of the days happenings on the back.
  • Local Newspapers - Clip a piece of local news or the weather forecast.
  • Soap Wrapper - Go ahead and use the soap
  • Hotel Bill - Some day you will look back and say, 'That was cheep!' Ha, Ha!

Please don't pick-up treasures that would leave an empty spot on our landscape.  Keep it just the way you found it for your children and grandchildren.
