Here's a "fan"-tastic idea
Charlotte found in Anna's "Designer
Cards & Tags".
It is a real working fan you might remember your grandmother
using on a warm summers day at church. The fan opens
to display the names of the wedding party, and closes
to reveal a space for the formal photo of the bride
and groom. Elegance at its finest. Charlotte designed
her own fan panels. Click

template. |

Caron loved using Anna's
new flocked stickers.
It adds a wonderful dimension to your page and the
letters can be used separately. |

Supplies:
Two pieces of chipboard
Four pieces of white cardstock
Small piece of string or ribbon
Book binding tape
(I used two sided tape and ribbon, but it didn't work the way
I would have liked it to.)
One piece of patterned paper to cover front and back
Glue, bone folder, small hole punch, exacto knife, scissors
Your choice of supplies to decorate inside pages |
|
| To create the cover, cut two pieces
of chipboard to 8"X4". Cover one side of each with glue and
adhere to patterned paper 1.5" bigger than the
chipboard. Use your exacto
knife to miter the corners
and adhere. Remove any bubbles
with a bone folder. Allow to dry. Decorate the front
cover.To create the accordion-folded
pages, cut four pieces
of white cardstock to 10.5"X3.5". Score vertically
every 3.5" along the length and fold into zigzags.
Unfold and lay two pieces
together joining them with
a piece of binding. Repeat
with the remaining two pieces so that you have two zigzag
pieces, each six sections long.Punch two holes through the center of the tape on
each. Fold the two pieces joined cardstock along the
zigzags, with fold in the opposite direction, making
diamond shapes. Place glue on one end piece of each
strip and glue them side by side onto the back of your
front cover. These pieces should hide the edges of the
patterned paper. Fold up the pages and glue the two
end pieces to the back cover. After your book has dried,
open and lace a ribbon or string through the two center
holes in the binding and tie a bow. Now you are ready
to decorate. Don't forget to decorate both sides. |
