Cut 11 1/2" square
AG1187. Set aside the 1/2" strips that are cut off
the sides
for the second page and the card.
Cut a 12" x 3" strip from the bottom edge of both
sheets of AG1181
and set aside for the second page.
From one of the
remaining
pieces, cut an 11 1/2" x 9" piece.
|
 |
 |
Score and
fold back 1/2" from the long top edge. |
 |
 |
Use a
wavy ruler, cutter,
or large scallop
scissors to cut
the long lower
edge. [The wavy ruler I used is made by Fiskars
and I purchased
it at Michale's
craft store.] |
 |
 |
Then
cut two 5" x 9" pieces from the second remaining
sheet of AG1181. Score and fold both pieces lengthwise
at 1/2", 1", 1", 1", and 1/2". Fold the 1/2" folds
back and accordion fold the 1" score lines. These
pieces make the “springs” that give dimension to
the awnings. |
 |
 |
 |
| To
attach the springs to the sides of the awning, place
adhesive along the top 1/2" fold and with the pattern facing
out, adhere along the right and left side of the
large awning aligning the edges below the top 1/2"
fold of the awning. |
 |
 |
 |
| With the
spring pieces folded in place, trim along the bottom
edge where they extend beyond the awning to make
matching scallops. |
 |
 |
 |
| Adhere
to the top edge of the 11 1/2" square AG1187 (step
1) by folding the top 1/2" fold over the top of the
square and adhering in place. Adhere the back 1/2" folds
of the springs to the back of the square on each
side |
