Note: Please note that for AG1105
Red & Cream
Pattern,
it will be easier if the pieces are cut out ahead
of time so you can see how the paper will be used
and it will save a bit of time too.
Use a sheet of AG1101
Green Damask as the background for this layout. |
Cut
up sheet AG1105: Examine the sheet of AG1105 Red
and Cream pattern. You'll see that it has a lot of
detail and is symmetrical. Rather than covering this
lovely paper up, we're going to cut it into three
different sections to make the most of it. |
First, we are going to cut off
the corners
of the paper.
On the front
side of the
paper, take
your ruler
and find
where you
can make
a 5" diagonal
line across
the corner
so that you
can make
a triangle
out of each
corner. (Your
line should
come under
the white
flower that
has six pedals).
Next, cut
off these
triangle
corners.
You will
be using
these corners
in step 3
to make the
corner design
for the left
page. [Caron
cut out the
corner designs,
rather than
cutting a
diagonal. If you cut on the diagonal, it cuts
off part
of the design
you will
need later.]

Second, notice that
the paper now has four identical borders along each
edge. Cut these out just outside of the “arched” design;
these borders will be used as the edges of the frame
for the center of the left page. |

Last, this leaves you with the beautiful center
design of the paper. Cut around the design leaving
just enough red around the cream to highlight the
design. This piece will become the decoration for
the pocket on the left page.
Take the triangle corner pieces that you cut
from AG1105 and ONLY cut out around the side with
the “arch” design - leaving the other
two sides straight. Adhere them in the corners of
your background sheet of AG1101 Green Damask.

With a sheet of AG1102
Grace Paisley,
mark the center
of each of the
four sides of
the paper. Cut
across the paper
diagonally from
mark to mark
to cut off very
large corners
so you are left
with a diamond
shape. Adhere
this diamond
to the center
of background
paper AG1101
Green Damask.
[Caron chose
to assemble the
entire frame
first, before adhering. Either way would work
fine.] |

Use the other sheet of AG1101 Green
Damask as the background for this layout. |
From AG1102 Grace
Paisley, cut three, 1 3/4" x 12" strips.
Adhere one of the strips in the center of AG1101
Green Damask and adhere the other two strips at about
1 3/4" on each side of the center strip. |
Cut a 6" x12" rectangle
of AG 1100 Crewel Holly. Adhere it along the sides
and bottom ONLY, do not put any adhesive on the middle,
for this will be used to make a “pocket”-
then adhere to the background sheet. |
Take the beautiful center design that you cut
out of AG1105 Red and Cream pattern and cut it in
half on the diagonal. Match the straight edge to
the top of the pocket and adhere the piece to the
front of the pocket. |
Adhere the rest of the narrow, moss green ribbon
across the background page, just above the pocket.
NOT ON the pocket.
Done!

Holiday Greetings
Cut a 6" x 9" piece of
ivory cardstock. Fold it in half to make a 4 1/2" x
6" card. |
Cover the front of the card with
the remaining strip of AG1100 Crewel Holly. |
Cut out one of the small postcard
designs (such as the sentiment, “Christmas
Greetings”) from AG1103 Vintage Postcards.
Mat the postcard with a scrap of AG1102 Grace Paisley. |
Adhere the postcard sentiment
with foam adhesive. (Note: You can use the remaining
postcard images from this sheet to make even more
cards at home!) |
Last, pop out all of the images
from the Holly Die Cut Sheet. Adhere the die cuts
to make them three-dimensional and then use them
to decorate around the postcard sentiment image on
the card. |
Use the red texture ribbon to make
a bow and adhere it centered under the matted postcard
sentiment.
Done!
