The Valentine Tree

To help me get through the dark months of January and February, I decided to keep my Christmas tree up and lit. My daughter suggested I theme decorate it for each month. My wonderful mom got wind of it and started making valentines. Without me knowing, she asked my two sisters and grandchildren to send some for the tree. Well, as you can see, the tree was a great success and brought me plenty of sunshine of these dark winter days. Trust your days are being filled with sunshine! - Barb

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. O Lord Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you." Psalm 84:11

Dawn from Rockford, IL , one of our guests to the acre, shares this extraordinary card making technique. For Christmas, Dawn used Anna's top selling scrapbook paper, Dorothy Black Graphic. Notice the glitter covered brad and beaded handle. Use your own favorite paper pattern and embellishments to make this an Easter card or Mother's Day card.

Special thanks to Dawn for thinking of us and sharing this wonderful card project.

A very Happy Easter to one and all. This basket from Charlotte is amazing. Not sure of all the details, but I will pass along what I know. She used papers from the McKenzie collection AG1168, AG1171, and AG1177. The little flowers are all hand made, and the bunny is cut from AG1166. All of the strips are 12" long. The strips are all three folds. Charlottes started with the bottom and worked up the sides.
This month, Charlotte had fun using papers to make the basket and this two page layout that she normally wouldn't. Try this folded fan technique. Use a bone folder and you will have professional results. The basket template is down loadable. Each triangle is 2" on the long side, and 1.5" from the middle of the long side to the adjacent point. Supplies: Anna Griffins Evelyn collection, AG1134, AG1133, AG1138, AG1141, AG1204 and Anna's ivory cardstock. To finish this project, Charlotte used embellishments, AGDE703, AGDE738 and AGDE316.
New embellishments for the Anna Griffin 2008 Collection will be in soon.
New Anna Griffin Totes will arrive by the end of March.
