Class # 420 A Flurry
of Paisley
Preparation
Cut six “2 square wide strips” [strips
two squares
wide] from
AG1039. Cut
away every
other square along
one row of
each strip.
Cut six [or 7, you will need one for the card],
3/4" x
12" strips
from AG1087
by cutting
along each
pale green
stripe on
the outside
of each of
the dark
green stripes.
Make snowflakes:
Using the
patterns, cut out the five circles by cutting the
pattern and AG1085 together around the line with
decorative
scissors.
(Be sure to save a 4 1/2" x
12" strip for the card.) [Cut this piece first.]
Fold each circle in
half and
then in half again and then again to make a pie
slice shape that is not too thick to cut through.
Cut triangles,
squares, and curves into the folds, being careful
to keep sections of the folds intact. On the large
circle only cut shapes into the outer 1 1/2" to 2". The photo will cover the
inner area.

420 A Flurry

Framed page
| Adhere
four cut AG1039
strips around
the outer edges
of the background
sheet AG1084
to frame the
page with the “teeth” facing
out. [I just
cut off the extra
pieces on the
ends. The corners were much easier to fit.]
Overlap the ends or align
and trim the
length of the
strips as needed
so they meet
at the corners.
You may have
to trim them
or add on a “square” to
get the corners
to all match. |
| Cut a 10" square
AG1039. [Or cut
a 10.25" square
and attach your
strips flush
with the outside
edges, rather
than trying to
overlap the right
amount.] Adhere
four AG1087 strips
around the sides,
overlapping and
then mitering
the corners.
Center and adhere
to the page. |
| Cut an 8 1/2" square
AG1088. Center
and adhere to
a 9 1/2" square
AG1083 with back
sides together. |
With the 8 1/2" square facing
up, score around the edges of the square. |
Make a small diagonal fold at each
corner by bringing a corner of the 9 1/2" square
in to meet the corner of the 8 1/2" square.
Repeat at each corner. |
| Fold sides in to make
1/2" fold in each side. Flatten the folds with
a bone folder or
scoring tool.
Unfold. |
Then fold each edge of
the 9 1/2" square in to the edge of the 8 1/2" square
to make a 1/4" fold. Fold again along the 1/2" fold
line. Flatten all folds. (You could adhere the 1/4" fold
in place but we didn’t use adhesive and it
stayed closed.) |
| From the same sheet AG1083
cut two 1 1/2" x 10" strips. [You won't
have enough length
in your pieces
to make them
10" long, so
cut them 8" long
which is long
enough to make
your two 4" pieces
from each strip.}
Score 1/2" from
each edge lengthwise.
Fold sides in
and adhere the
top fold down.
Flatten folds
with the scoring
tool. |
| Cut four 4" sections.
Fold each in
half to make
a V. Cut a V
in the ends to
make a bow tail.
Center the 8
1/2" square
on the page and
adhere with a
paper V under
each corner.
[The bow tails
were actually
attached to the
top of the page.] |
| Center large snowflake in the 8 1/2" square,
adhering in the center and using four pop dots, one
at each side, to add dimension. |
Cut a
4 1/4" x 4 1/2" photo mat from AG1083.
Center and adhere
to page with
five pop dots.
Punch four circles
and adhere to
the four sides
of the photo
mat as in sample. Done! |

Adhere one cut AG1039 strip along
the lower edge of the background sheet AG1084 with
the “teeth” facing out. Adhere a 3/4" AG1087
strip above this strip with a little bit of the background
sheet showing. |
| Cut a 12" x 2 1/2" strip
AG1088. Center
and adhere to
a 12 x 3 1/2"strip
AG1083 with the back
sides together. |
Score along the edges
of the 2 1/2" strip and fold in (1/2" fold.)
Unfold and fold edge into the fold (1/4" fold.)
Refold and flatten the edges. |
Adhere to page along
the edge of the AG1087 strip. |
Adhere the last cut AG1039 strip
with the “teeth” facing up. Adhere the
last 3/4" strip AG1087, 1/4" from the top
of the page. |
Adhere the three snowflakes with a
pop dot in the center along the border. Add punched
AG1083 circles to centers. |
Cut photo mats: Three 3 3/4" x
5 3/4" pieces AG1083. Adhere to page, leaving

across the page.

Card
Cut a 6 1/4" x 12" piece
ivory cardstock. Score and fold 4" from each
end and fold toward center. |
| Cut a 6" x 12" piece
AG1088. Draw a line just in from each long edge on
the back of the paper. Cut on the lines with decorative
scissors. Center and adhere to the length of the
card. Cut a 4 1/2" x 12" piece AG1085.
Center and adhere to the length of the card. |
Cut one 3/4" stripe from AG1087
